A charming antique french brocante and antiques from 18th century until the Art Déco period that come from the Loire Valley, known for its history, wine, family property, manoir and castles. But not only, we travel all around France to truffle the best antiques. What a fabulous antique French butter serving dishes that dates from the Napoleon III era! Let's talk about the box first before giving you the exquisite details of this set. The wooden box is covered with a beautiful deep green lacquered paper in very good antique condition, just faded to the perfection.

The lid is decorated with a gild liseret and the inner is padded with a soft silk fabric that carries the mark's manufactory. Absolutely wonderful, you can read LENOIR 14, rue Royale. M Le roi et la Reine de Portugal et de MONSEIGNEUR le Duc d'Orléans.

With the two blazons in the center... Here is the translation of what is written in French LENOIR 14, rue Royale. M the king and the queen of Portugal and of my Lord the duke of Orléans. The escutcheon box closes and opens properly and everything is in place.

The Lenoir craftsmanship was located at 14 rue Royale in Paris. They supplied also the King of Sweden, the Queen of Romania, and the Queen of Italy. The house supplied leather goods and watches.

The same set could have been delivered to a Lord, a King or a queen, can you imagine to have something that the duke and duchess, the queen and the king could offered. The box contains six silverplated cups, each one has its original glass cup, note that only one glass cup is missing, but this does not detract at all.

The silverplated plates are ornate with an intricate decor all over the edges. This set is perfect to serve caviar for occasion but can also be used for butter, jam and honey in the breakfast for a chic touch that will add a grandeur to your table. Each silverplated plate carries the engraved mark, it reads : E. LENOIR 14 rue Royale P A R I S.

The measurements : 20cm/ 7.87" width, 29.5cm/11.61" length and 3cm/1.18 height. The silverplated plates are 8cm/ 3.15" diameter and 2cm/ 0.79" height. Please check out my other French Fabulous Brocante items currently in sale. I GUARANTEED THE AUTHENTICITY OF ALL THE ITEM THAT I SELL, NO COPY.
