Antique Glass & Silverplate Sugar Cube Pickle Castor Jar with Claw Tongs 1898-1938

Crystal sugar bowl with tongs. This is a sugar cube bowl with claw tongs hanging on the side. The jar is a crystal pattern in hexagons. The rest of the piece is silver plate the bottom is marked Meriden Silver Plate Co Quadruple Plate. This was an American silver company in business from 1898 and closed in 1938.

The glass jar 4 1/4" tall and approximately 3 1/4" in diameter at the opening. Tiny nick on one edge, hardly noticeable. Jar is heavy, has a silver plate lid with a handle and the tongs have claws at the bottom for gripping, sits inside the 4 footed silver plate holder which is 10 1/4 tall.
