Nice richly colored cranberry opalescent glass pickle castor on an ornate stand with handle and tongs. The glass features a coin spot pattern.

The ornate stand is silver-plated by the Meriden Co. Per stamp on the underside.

There is ornate metalwork on the handle, and especially the base. Was formed in 1852 in Meriden, Connecticut.

Meriden operated until 1898 when it became part of the International Silver Company. This is a nice American Victorian EAPG design and silver-plated stand. Glass jar is very good with no chipping! The Silver-plate stand has some tarnishing and expected wear on metal surfaces, especially the lid. Stands 11 1/2 inches tall.
