Antique Victorian Swirled Windows Glass Pickle Castor Meriden Silver Plate Stand
White EAPG glass pickle castor on an ornate stand with handle and tongs. Nice white windows pattern with a swirled glass mould. The ornate stand is silver-plated by the Meriden B. Per stamp on the underside. Great flower and leaf design on the bass with an ornate handle and tongs. The lid features a small pineapple - a "welcome" sign that adds a nice touch. The opalescent glass castor was likely blown by the Hobbs, Brockunier & Co.

The pattern was created in 1888. Source: Opalescent Glass from A-Z, William Heacock.

Was formed in 1852 in Meriden, Connecticut. Meriden operated until 1898 when it became part of International Silver Company. This is a beautiful example of American Victorian design. The deep patina on the silver-plate is an almost uniform bronze color.

Stands almost 10 1/2 tall.
