Pair WMF Silver-plate Art Nouveau Toddy Glasses w. Maiden Head & Original Glass

On offer from our personal collection is this wonderful pair of WMF Art Nouveau Silver-plate Toddy Glasses with iconic Maiden Head design. What is most remarkable about the pair is that the original glass inserts have survived.

You can compare them to the design on the glasses shown in the 1906 catalog in the last two photos. Made by "WMF", "Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik" in Germany circa 1900.

This particular imagery (of a maiden's head with flower and long flowing hair) was used on several items, including claret jugs and wine bottle holders. It captures the essence of the art nouveau moment. Thetoddy glasses are correctly marked on the bottom with "B" (for Britannia metal) the WMF running ostrich mark OX (for plated) and the model number (90). The toddy glasses are in good antique condition.

They retains good amount of plate on exterior. As you can see it polishes up to a nice bright finish. The interior has lost much of the plating as you would expect after 100 years.

The inserts are in excellent condition, no chips or scratches. The toddy glass (with inserts) stand 4" tall and about 4" across top of glass. The photos form part of the description so please examine them carefully.
