Very unusual Victorian WMF ice bucket of asymmetric ice-cube shaped body. The glass is finished in a crackled effect which creates a frosted illusion, though the glass is clear. Mounted in silver plate with ornate pierced geometric design to the band.
The swing handle is decorated on top with a pair of mythical fish / dolphins that look almost Medieval. Joined by a large pair of later-date ice tongs with bird claw grips. Made by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik); mark in use c.
14 cm tall to rim. 26.5 cm tall to handle. 13 cm diameter on top.8 cm diameter at base. Good antique condition, no damage to glass. Wear to silvering; some scuffing to the tongs commensurate with age and use.
