Vintage ELLIS-BARKER Silver Cranberry Glass Sugar Basket Bowl Candy Bride Fruit. A beautiful beautiful antique Barker-Ellis marked silverplated sugar basket with pierced design and fitted cranberry glass liner, early 1900's. This lovely sugar basket is completely pierced decorated with multiple designs and features four oval medallions with reticulated designs. Further embellished with fine engraved details and stands on a pedestal base. The silver plating is in excellent Estate condition reflecting very little use.
The cranberry liner is a much deeper & richer that it appears in our photos. Sugar baskets began to be replaced in the early 19th Century when sugar bowls began to be designed as a part of tea and coffee services.
